Privacy Policy

1. Information used by the app

With your photo library permission, Focarta displays photos in your library and reads the images you choose to frame. It uses camera metadata, such as camera or device model, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, to render text in the frame. It also uses the photo's capture date to organize saved edits.

When an edit is saved, Focarta stores a copy of the original image, the framed image, the displayed camera metadata, the aspect ratio, a locally generated identifier, and creation, capture, and modification dates in the app's storage on your device. This information supports viewing, sorting, sharing, and deleting your saved edits.

Focarta does not require an account. It has no integrated advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs, and does not send your photos, camera metadata, identifiers, or app usage to developer-operated servers. We do not sell or rent your personal information or use it for targeted advertising. The app does not request your device's location.

2. Photo library permission and iCloud

Focarta requests read and write access to your photo library so that you can browse photos and perform the photo actions you choose. You can change or revoke access in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Photos → Focarta. Denying or restricting access may prevent the gallery and framing features from working. Revoking permission does not remove copies already saved within Focarta.

If a photo is stored in iCloud Photos, Apple's Photos service may download it to your device so Focarta can display or process it. Photos you save to your library, and app data included in device backups, may be stored or synchronized by Apple according to your settings. Focarta does not operate a separate cloud storage service. Apple's services are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

3. Sharing and exporting

When you use the iOS share sheet, the image is sent to the app, service, or recipient you select. The camera information printed in the frame is visible in that image. Your chosen recipient or service handles the shared copy under its own policies. Focarta does not automatically share your images with the developer or other recipients.

4. Storage, retention, and deletion

• Saved edits remain in Focarta's local storage until you delete them or delete the app and its data. Offloading the app may preserve its data.
• Use the delete controls in Editions to remove saved edits and their associated original-image copies and metadata from Focarta. Deleting an edit does not delete the original photo in your Photos library.
• A deletion initiated from the library gallery applies to the selected original photo through Apple's Photos service. Apple's deletion and recovery rules apply.
• Copies exported to Photos, shared with others, or included in backups are separate. Manage those copies in the relevant app, service, or backup settings.

We cannot access, retrieve, or remotely delete the photo data stored on your device. Protect access to your device and backups using the security settings available to you.

5. Contacting us and your privacy rights

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to your request and resolve support or privacy questions, based on our legitimate interest in providing support. We retain correspondence only as necessary for those purposes or to meet applicable legal requirements. Our email provider processes the messages to deliver and store correspondence. Please do not send photos or other sensitive information unless needed for your request.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information we hold, and to request portability where applicable. Contact erikote2004@icloud.com to make a request. You may also contact your local data protection authority. For photos and edits held only on your device, use the controls described above.

6. Children's privacy

Focarta does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through a support message, contact us so we can address it and delete it where appropriate.

7. This policy website

This page does not include analytics scripts, advertising, or forms. The website hosting provider may process ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and browser request details, to deliver and secure the page. Visiting this page does not give the website access to your photo library or Focarta edits.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or applicable requirements change. The current policy will remain available at this URL, with the updated date shown above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request permission before introducing new uses of personal information.
